Parts Incorporated Africa is seeking a highly skilled, results-driven Warehouse Assistant Manager to support and optimise our large-scale warehousing and logistics operations in Cape Town, Philippi. This role requires effective management of a high-value stockholding and leadership of a large, unionised workforce to ensure operational excellence, compliance, and safety.

Key Responsibilities

Warehouse Operations

  • Assist with developing and implementing stock control policies.
  • Supervise stock reconciliation, monitor variances, and investigate discrepancies.
  • Ensure efficient daily warehouse operations, stock counts, and shipment accuracy.
  • Implement controls to minimise stock losses and prevent theft.
  • Support inbound receiving, unpacking, checking, and distribution within set timeframes.
  • Oversee stock allocation, RFC (returns for credit) processing, and supplier returns.
  • Assist with staff scheduling, development, and floor discipline.
  • Monitor performance and ensure turnaround/lead times are met.

Supervision & Leadership

  • Provide leadership and guidance to warehouse teams.
  • Assist with performance reviews and goal-setting.
  • Ensure legal compliance with labour, safety, and warehouse regulations.
  • Support driver supervision, route planning, and vehicle maintenance.
  • Assist in overseeing branch security.
  • Ensure adherence to Gemba Board, policies, BSOP, and Health & Safety standards.

 Requirements

  • Grade 12 (Matric) – minimum.
  • Tertiary qualification in warehousing/logistics (advantageous).
  • 5+ years’ warehouse experience in the automotive industry (essential).
  • Prior Warehouse Supervisor/Manager experience required.
  • Strong understanding of warehouse operations, logistics, and relevant legislation (H&S Act, LRA, BCEA, EE, etc.).
  • Computer literacy, strong decision-making, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to communicate professionally and work collaboratively with management.
  • Strong leadership capabilities with a hands-on approach.
  • Clear criminal record.
